The mesh-back hat as fashion accessory.
Let me make this clear:
If you are a long distance truck driver you have a right to wear a mesh-back cap.
If you work with farm equipment you have a right to wear a mesh-back cap (as long as it is sponsored by the manufacturer of said equipment).
If you are from Alabama you are probably born wearing a mesh-back cap.
If you are trying to keep up with the latest New York style by wearing a mesh-back then you are a fashion victim. Sorry but you look like a pratt.

Australian Hip-Hop/Rap
This a crime against humanity. Lame rap by Lebanese boys from Parramatta isn't cutting edge hard-core: it's just sad (and incredibly irritating). And don't get me started on the girls. Now I'm not a big fan of the genre, it has to be said, but at least the US exponents have some talent and style. Aussie rap is just rythmical whinging.


Now back to your regularly scheduled Republican-vs-Democrat slag-fest.

I run a retail store that sells these hats, and let me tell you, they have just frickin exploded.

We see alot of the wannabe gangbangers to.  Very good for a laugh.  If I hear about "pitchfork" down or up again, I may have smack some people.

I look at rap as balance.

My generation saw the very best in rock and roll and pop  and blues and country.  

it is only fair that we see the absolute worst in "music" that has ever existed.  

It is probly our punishment for making the world have safe sex.

As for the mesh-back hats, they remind me of the '70s convenience-store hats I could get as a kid for $5.  I loved'em as a kid because I was outside playing sports all the time and the lightweight hats kept the sun off my head and neck.  Here in Florida, the solid crown hats can get awfully hot and stale. The only downside to the mesh-backs is/was the plastic tab.  I haven't bought a new mesh-back in awhile - have they "corrected" the tab with a velcro closure yet or do we still get the hard plastic?

Most still have the plastic.  It gives it that authentic feel.


We do carry a Duff Beer hat that has the velcro though.
