Ok Which of these 2 cards is better.....

I decided that I would go ahead and get an Nvidi card since that is what I already have. (deleting the drivers is greek to me) Anyway  went to our local Circut City and found the 2 best cards they have.

One is a GeForce 5600 AGP, 256 DDR

Other is a Geforce 5900 AGP, 128 DDR, 850 MHZ

Both are made by PNY.

Which of the 2 is better or should I keep looking? (remember computer illiterate here)

Also another dumb question. The 5600 says is needs 250watts of power and the 5900 says it needs 300 watts of power. I'm pretty sure my system power supply has way more than that but how can I tell?

If you have a Pentium 4 processor, then don't worry about it.  The power supply is good enough.  If you really want to check, you can open up the case and look at the power supply, it might have a sticker on it with the output wattage.  If you don't have a Pentium4 (or equivalent AMD chip), then forget the video card and get a better processor first.

My current cpu is an AMD Athlon 2400XP+ (2gig), and if I remember correctly it needs about 450-500W. My other question is, is that to much? (Don't want to burn the card up)

No, it's never too much.   Each component takes what it needs (the power is "pulled"  from the supply, not "pushed" to the card).
