BTW Iron... your john adams quote is incorrect.  the word religious was not used.....  If memory serves right, the correct line would be 'men of good-will'.... or maybe it was 'honorable men'.... considering the antithesis of that statement would not condon nor respect a governing body.... thereby being ungovernable.... it seems you got your quote from some far right religious extremeist trying to justify themselves...

Thats an intelligent statement.

Quote
The Pentagon announced that the number of Americans killed in combat in Iraq since May 1 — the day Bush stood before a banner on the carrier Abraham Lincoln that declared, “Mission Accomplished” — exceeds the 114 killed by hostile fire during the war itself, and the number keeps climbing. So far 148 good American Soldiers have died since "Mission Accomplished". This does not include over 100 deaths that are considered non-combat related.

Isnt is great?  The success of the operations in Iraq are unpredecented in human history - both in time to completion and number of casualties sustained.

I can only hope every war is this successful and with this low loss of life rate.

What do the soldiers in Iraq think?

Depends.  Those that I speak with are pretty upbeat, although more than one is discouraged about the lack of a united front back home.  They all miss home, of course, but they have a job to do and they understand that.

Its all relative though, I imagine that Peter Jennings can find one or two that are crying about mom's apple pie and interview them.

Exaclty how many soldiers/Marines have you spoken with deployed in Iraq right now?

The situation is not stabilizing, it's deteriorating. We are not changing our strategy and guerrilla forces are running amuck killing American Soldiers. Sound familiar? Remind you of another President from Texas?

I must have missed this advisory meeting, what else was discussed?

Oh, and no to your question.

Hitler and to those that think he is great... rememebr where he is now. and what happened to that deal he started.. nazism is dead as isnt anything worth while to be afraid of. if you nazi character,s think your great then do something about it and shut up talking about it.. why  well if you do you would be stamped out like a bug like they were done before.  wiped out and defeated. So Nazis do something or STFU. You represent, murder terrorism and killing everything that cant fight back, so the Nazi stuff  lets see what you have...lol but not in post, in action

ooops sorry got carried away ..damn might be wrong thread too..lol wonder how this happened and where was i..

Who is this "us" you are talking about? You? What war did you go fight? Unless you are willing to put your own butt on the line- something our last two Presidents were remiss in doing- or unless you have children fighting in Iraq your "sacrifice" involves nothing more than posting your POV on message boards.

And yes- Talk is cheap, but life is sacred.

4 years, including 1 year S. Vietnam. (REMF stuff- ask Rip. ;)

Like I said, I hope it turns out well, but looking at it logically, in spite of my anti-war bias, I don't see how it possibly can. All I see happening is every Moslem extremist in the entire Middle East hopping on a camel and heading to Iraq to shoot at Americans.

And, once again, I sincerely hope I am wrong- I sincerely hope we bring stability and democracy to Iraq- I do not gloat at any casualties, American or otherwise. I only pray for peace.

I'm a rebel not a liberal.

In fact, I voted for Perot... just out of spike for the two party system.

You can pray for peace all you'd like.  People have been doing it for years.  As long as there are Muslim extremists waiting to shoot Americans, it won't happen though.

And I know what REMF is, I don't have to ask rip.   REMF is every bit as important as the man on the line, IMO.

Ok bro, im sorry, but........   Speeches are great... We all love to hear ourselfs.. But talk, as we all know is cheap. He had a job? Well what has he done?

Are you referring to the 'Road Map' for peace?? It seems the exit off that road was taken long ago. Risk are great... But it seems our goverment is playing the wrong game.. It should be realized by our leaders that the game at best is chess, and never checkers....

http://www.fromthewilderness.com[/URL] is a great site to do some reading. Especially bout 9/11.... It of course has a spin, but its not pro democrate or republican or conservative or liberal... Its pro-american.............

Just because you don't agree with Bush and the direction he has taken, does not mean he has done nothing.

If I have to explain in detail Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the efforts here at home, which have you frightened(Patriot Act), then this is heading to the same place all of these threads end up...no where.
