Apparently the self proclaimed Conservatives here don't give a Rat's Arse that American Soldiers are dying, as long as it's under George Bush's administration and they aren't the ones getting killed. Nice Armchair Quarterbacking!
Thats an intelligent statement.
The Pentagon announced that the number of Americans killed in combat in Iraq since May 1 — the day Bush stood before a banner on the carrier Abraham Lincoln that declared, “Mission Accomplished” — exceeds the 114 killed by hostile fire during the war itself, and the number keeps climbing. So far 148 good American Soldiers have died since "Mission Accomplished". This does not include over 100 deaths that are considered non-combat related.
Isnt is great? The success of the operations in Iraq are unpredecented in human history - both in time to completion and number of casualties sustained.
I can only hope every war is this successful and with this low loss of life rate.
What do the soldiers in Iraq think?
Depends. Those that I speak with are pretty upbeat, although more than one is discouraged about the lack of a united front back home. They all miss home, of course, but they have a job to do and they understand that.
Its all relative though, I imagine that Peter Jennings can find one or two that are crying about mom's apple pie and interview them.
Exaclty how many soldiers/Marines have you spoken with deployed in Iraq right now?
The situation is not stabilizing, it's deteriorating. We are not changing our strategy and guerrilla forces are running amuck killing American Soldiers. Sound familiar? Remind you of another President from Texas?
I must have missed this advisory meeting, what else was discussed?
Oh, and no to your question.
