When you kill someone's chute its like kicking him in the head when he's down. Its like saying "I want to do anything I can to make you unhappy and show disrespect for you - I want you to feel bad,
and I can do it anonymously because I am base, weak, and cowardly", and it is usually the resort of: 1) self-appointed behaviour police (like anti-gunHawg activists),
2) frustrated newbies who can't manage a kill against a plane, 3) people who enjoy making other people angry at any cost, 4) the new 'anti-spy' killers.
Sometimes it happens by accident, like a late
burst hits the pilot just as he is bailing.
The spy excuse might be considered valid against a chute running around on the ground - o.k. But otherwise its just another excuse. After all, most fights to capture bases occur at or near the bases. How many bailing pilots, who will be captured on landing anyway, are 'spies'?
I don't mind saying that in view of the generally considerate, friendly, and playful atmosphere in AH I have no respect at all for people who promote hatred and anger by killing chutes on purpose. I hold them in scant regard and break wind in their general direction. When I discover who did it to me I stalk them and record the kill - and that is the most satisfying antidote I can think of.
