New Kill Message Needed
« on: August 14, 2000, 08:04:00 AM »
SOB brought this idea to my attention:

Can we get a "chute kill" message.  This would be a seperate total from the normal kills.

"Victory 11 by Pilot of Squadron
Chute Kill 9 by Pilot of Squadron"

This way the chute-killers can keep score, and the chute-killees know who to chute-kill in the future.

Also, divide "Chute Kills" in two different catagories, one where  the chute was within a visual distant of enemy airfield and one where chute was over friendly airfield.    I kill all chutes that are over my countries airfield.  See "Are there spys in Aces High?".

Shouldn't it be "StSanta did the world a favor and killed another F4U-1C Dweeb while in his chute"?

I hope someday guys stop worrying about chute killers.  Sheeesh, nobody really dies.
I couldnt care less if someone kills my chute, and I am sure not gonna whine about it.  Might be differant if it said I died twice, but it doesnt.

When you kill someone's chute its like kicking him in the head when he's down. Its like saying "I want to do anything I can to make you unhappy and show disrespect for you - I want you to feel bad,
and I can do it anonymously because I am base, weak, and cowardly", and it is usually the resort of: 1) self-appointed behaviour police (like anti-gunHawg activists),
2) frustrated newbies who can't manage a kill against a plane, 3) people who enjoy making other people angry at any cost, 4) the new 'anti-spy' killers.

Sometimes it happens by accident, like a late
burst hits the pilot just as he is bailing.

The spy excuse might be considered valid against a chute running around on the ground - o.k. But otherwise its just another excuse. After all, most fights to capture bases occur at or near the bases. How many bailing pilots, who will be captured on landing anyway, are 'spies'?

I don't mind saying that in view of the generally considerate, friendly, and playful atmosphere in AH I have no respect at all for people who promote hatred and anger by killing chutes on purpose. I hold them in scant regard and break wind in their general direction. When I discover who did it to me I stalk them and record the kill - and that is the most satisfying antidote I can think of.

You forgot about #5 - Angry, Gun-Toting, Meat-Eaters who like to shoot anything and everything that gets anywhere near their aircraft...this being the category that I fall into.

Here's a thought. If you shoot a chute in a square owned by your side it's ok and you get the kill. If you shoot a chute over a square on HIS side then you die as a kill shooter. In other words, you bail over an enemy square, you're a free target. If you bail over a friendly square, they die as a kill shooter. Howzat grabya????
