Stuttering frame rate in 1.992 and 1.993
« on: November 06, 2003, 08:40:48 PM »
While flying in v1.992 and v1.993 I am getting extremely frequent stuttering in the frame rate.  It will be reporting a frame rate of 45fps and every so often it will stop on a frame for half a second, or sometimes do a series of stutter stops of a tenth of a second each.

This seems more frequent when I look around, but also occurs when just looking forwards.

Reposted from another thread since it fits here..

With 993, now getting major lags in display. Same as before... display hiccups, or stops for a brief moment. Now happening more frequently than previous versions.

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600
Display Memory: 128.0 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (100Hz)

When looking back in Spit, seat rivets are flashing/blinking.

With screen flashing, now see a noticable drop in frame rate. If at 45fps, when screen flashes/pauses it drops to 40fps and recovers to 45fps.
Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
