Did you noticed the ethymology of the word "Emmerdeur" ?

And Emmerdeur can be a :
  • trouble-maker
  • complete moron
  • someone pretty annoying


and lastly Emmerdeur come from the verb Emmerder : covering with fecal matter :)

I am traveling round the world for 6 months starting in december and need a big long book is Quicksilver a good candidate?

Yep Quicksilver is actually 3 books in one convenient package.  If you get Diamond Age and Snow Crash you could travel to Mars and not run out of reading material.  :)
