Video Upgarde gone bust continued....
« on: November 08, 2003, 12:39:55 PM »
I recently returned a Sapphire 9500 Pro that I had installed and which was giving me pretty bad screen corruption. I thought maybe the card was bad but there were some opinions expressed that my power supply might be a little light or that heat might be the culprit.

I just got a new, made by ATI, 9500 Pro from Monarch and installed it. At the end of the driver installation I got an error message labled "severe" that said "Zero Display Service Error". I finished up the installation and restarted the computer and the card seems to run fine. No screen corruption and no problems that I can see.

Anyone got an idea what that message means and if it is anything I should be worried about? Also is there a benchmark program I should use to see if the card is running  the way it should?

I don't know about the error but here are a few links to some video benchmarking utilitys

If you want a good test of your system and video card run 3dmarks2001 looped for a couple of hours. If your computer can run it for a few hours without locking up you should not have any problems with day to day gaming.
