As someone who saw Shakira on stage before she became famous I can tell you: Thats how she sings in real life.

The girl's just looks and she does write most of her own songs (kudos)...but her voice is not really that good.

What you hear on CD's and her videos is largely the work of people in the studios playing with their sound mixing machines and stuff.
