This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.—Dwight Eisenhower, April 16, 1953

Civilised people (us Brits...  :p ) will serve pork with an apple sauce and will serve lamb with a mint sauce. We also serve duck with an orange sauce and goose with a cranberry sauce. It's not mint jelly, it's a mint sauce, blutic. Next time you cook some lamb try putting some mint on top of it. I guarantee you will find it tastes good. It goes really well with the flavour.
