Bomber Squads interested in RURH AH Scenario
« on: November 12, 2003, 06:51:36 AM »
We are designing the NEXT AH Scenario.

It will be a BOMBER / ESCORT / LW Scenario taking place in the Summer of 43 over the Industrial center of the RUHR.

The BOMBERS performance will be the KEY to who wins or loses.

We are looking at getting as many DEDICATED and EXPERIENCED Bomber Squads to join in the Scenario.

Please check out the below AH BB Thread and let me know if you and/or your squad would be interested.

The scenario should run on at least 4 Saturdays ( 3:00 PM ET ) during February.

http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=100881&referrerid=4535

PLEASE PASS THIS INFO ALONG to any squad you think may be interested.

Thanks !

Hey cool! I'm in ... but the only bombers I'll see will be through my gunsights ;)

Not the right TIME FRAME for hte B-26's - they were 1944'ish. Weare looking at 1943'ish.

But you are MORE than welcome to take a ride in a B17 or a LANC and drop your bombs ON TARGET.

Better check your history books. The 322nd BG (M) started combat operations with the 8th AF in early May 1943.

By the time of the massive Regensburg-Schweinfurt raid on August 17, 1943 there were 4 Bomb Groups flying the B-26 in operation with the 8th AF.

They "regularly" flew missions into France and as diversions for the big B-17 raids starting in July 1943.

8th AF B-26 Groups........Started Combat Ops
---------------------------------------------------------
322nd BG (M).................May 1943
323rd BG (M)..................July 1943
386th BG (M)..................July 1943
387th BG (M)..................August 1943

In October 1943 all A-20 and B-26 units in the 8th AF were transfered to the 9th AF also operating from England for Tactical Operations while the 8th AF would concentrate on the Strategic targets.

Thanks for the update. I will do some more research.

If we can get enough pilots signed up who are willing to FLY bombers we will see about trying to add them in some how.
