Pilot of a small plane accidently enters White House restricted air space... escorted out by fighter jets...

travels on to destination and is kindly greated by law enforcement at the airport.... they would like to talk with him.

Is there a fine from the FAA or a warning slapped on to his ticket?

The White House hasn't been violated on this scale since the departing Clintonites wreaked havoc.

Wow, y'all were falling over yourselves to make Clinton sex jokes. Perhaps you should coordinate next time so you can agree on a single, defining, funny post. This is why the dems have such an easy time painting broad, unflattering pics of Republicans. As a member of neither group, I enjoy the hilarity that ensues.

I'm not so consumed by partisan politics that I can't see a bit of humor on both sides of the fence.

There is a, by now, permanent flight restriction around the white house. It was expanded after 9/11 and ended up shutting down 3 DC airports that fell under it including the oldest continuous runing airport. College Airpark. Now new regulations make it very hard to fly out of the "DC three".

As to the likely penalty. The pilot is almost sure to have a fine and loss of his license for some time. The FAA doesn't have a sense of humor about presidential TFR's (temp flight restricions) and is enforcing punitive actions whether the violation was intentional or not. For a while there was no way to know if a TFR was there as it was unannounced and unpublished on any maps. The FAA briefers were supposed to be able to tell you about them but would give you a lat / long coordinate and you had to find it on your map yourself. Some were so recent that the briefers didn't get the word and pilots were still being held acountable for the violations.

Now the FAA does show a map depiction as well as give a coordinate. You have to look on their web site for it.

I figure this pilot will be out of the air for an extended time.
