hey banana, i didnt realize you lived in MN... i was just out there a couple weeks ago

on the way back from minneapolis i was talking to a friend on my cell passing the time and suddenly outta the darkness the body of a previously hit deer came outta nowhere. i had seen a few on the way out there that had been hit by semis, and usually it was a mess of blood and guts and body parts strewn across the highway. never saw anything like it out here in ma, thats for certain.. so anyway, its too late for me to avoid this deer body, so at 90mph i hit it square on

figured my car would be done for... but she kept on drivin ok, no loss of coolant (radiator strike) or oil pressure drop (oil cooler is right down there with the rad) so i figured i'd just have to deal with a cracked up front end... well, after stopping, the only damage i saw was blood ALL over the front lower fascia.

muchos gross. woulda taken pics but it rained the next morning before i could get em.

Sorry to hear that banana.  I've been lucky, grew up in Illinois and never hit one.  Have come close here in Washington as well, the damned things just jump through neighborhoods out here.  They never would have done that back home.

If I hit one it will be with that T-bird.  Stupid car is so low to the ground I bet it would come right into the car.  Not a good thing to happen.

Rip, hitting deer with trucks seems to be the only way my father in law can get a deer lately.  You are right though, he would have needed to bleed the deer right away.

I had a strange one once.

Was driving East on one of those 2 lane highways in Central Ca. near Morro Bay (41). At the time I owned a 1975 Honda CVCC. They don't make 'em much smaller.

It handled pretty well though, so I was rounding a curve at about 60mph at 2:00am when in the middle of the road in front of me appear 5 deer. I had nowhere to go but straight ahead.

Two of them went left, 2 went right... one decided to commit suicide by Honda.

I don't know why, but I didn't brake. That probably saved me. That Honda went right over the top of that deer. There was No damage at all to the car. Except for the smell of blood. The front end and under belly were covered in it.
ewwwwww.
