Spybot has an "immunize" setting which stops 'em getting in in the first place. Highly recommended.   If your curious the bad download blocker for IE does stop a lot in the immunize section, and with your option setting on that to display a dialoque when something trys to, you can see what they are. It's surprising how many sites have this spyware.

Getting rid of messenger

I found this on a BB and it seems to work pretty well to get rid of messenger.  Copy it into run and hit enter and, Viola! Messenger seems to be gone.  Then I run msconfig and disable it in services.  Seems to work for me anyway.  What do you think Skuzzy?  NOJACK

One more that you may find useful is a preventor.  Keeps em off your machine all together!

I use all three!  

Even so every now and then one sneaks through so I keep up the updates and scan with AdAware AND SpyBot Search and Destroy almost everytime i go on the net!!!!!

same here , I run  all three adware6plus , spybot and spyblaster seems to keep all of them at check, and when your on sites keep ad watch-3 what you get with adware plus ..the pay version of adaware seems to pick up more.. I gave it to a friend that had the free one and when he ran the paid for one, it seem to find more than the free version. but thats what it looked like to me
