Terrible news, it seems lots of Blackhawks have been lost recently.

Thoughts go out to their families.

This came on the news on the way back from the wedding.

I hope next time when a transport heli flies they have an Apache riding shotgun to take out the buggers who launch the rpgs....too much to hope for, I guess.

Army needs to change its tactics, probably doing that right now.

Even with counter-measures, those missles are so fast that most crews probably don't even see what hit them.  Flight time is probably 3 to 5 seconds maximum.

What are you talking about?

It said a missle hit one helicopter, it spun out of control and hit the other.  Did you click the link?

Witnesses say one of the helicopters was hit by a missile and spun out of control into the other, but officials have not commented on the cause.

"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

Americans never accept combat losses...

Unfortunately they have got their own Chechnya, but it's what anyone could expect towards an occupational army. They came with a sword...
