theres more than enough dudes down there right now acting as advisors that could lead a rescue mission and the colombians would do a great job in any rescue attempt. the difficulty is in finding them. and rogwar has it right about farc they brutal. and americans not very popular with farc once americans start helping colombia in fight with farc farc got burned real bad more than once. you have to have been in that area to understand how hard it is to find a small camp. state dept can do things it not about jurisdiction. if farc wanted to talk with america about deal for our three dudes going to state dept is one route they could use.

only positive indicator is they took those three alive for a reason. they executed other two on scene. if they didnt kill those three its "fifty-fifty". they either gonna work em over for everything they know then kill em or they took em for use as hostage.

O, I'm sure those 3 and the pilot are nothing more than civilians with nothing better to do that fly around with some colombian intelligence operative. Colombian intelligence operatives have been known on several occasions to give free sight-seeing tours. I've seen that vacation package on ebay and travelocity. Priced reasonably fair even.

Dunno if its good, bad, or ugly; but there is a lot more to this story.
