Bought this.

Am I missing something or is this the worst game ever made?

Convince me this is a great game or it goes back tomorrow.

The x-com games went down the gutter with Xcom2 and above. Want a good game? get the original Xcom. Its a classic!

Yep, if you want a real UFO game, try to find XCOM: UFO Defense.

Thanks for the 2nd opinion, Sour.  I am still debating if I should try it.

Aftermath is just complete BS, it has some good moments, but they are rare and far between. I suggest you return it and grab Silent Storm. Now thats basically as good as UFO:s tactical side with WW2 weapons. Everything can be destroyed, very good 3d graphics, multilayer buildings etc etc.

This is the first game that has made ragdoll physics to look really good.

Ingame screenshots..

30 seconds into the conversation with the Walmart employee hell be paying me to demo other titles.

Im just having alot of trouble getting into this.  The 'tactical' interface is total garbage - the controls must have been thought up by a monkey - and I have yet to get into anything I would have expected this game to provide.

Never played any of the XCOM games so the genre is totally new to me.

I doubt you'll get your money back.  Walmart has a strict policy on returning opened CDs/Video Games.  In fact I think their policies are posted all over the electronic section.  I know from experience after purchasing JetFighterIV and finding myself stuck with a glorified CD-Rom exerciser.

FOOT - Walmart returns have never been a problem for me - you just have to ignore the policy.  :D  Who is gonna argue with you?  The managers are either 18 or 81.

FU Doc.  ;)

Update - been giving it some time - the more I understand the more bearable it becomes... but I dont think Id buy it again.  Not horrible... but nowhere near great.
