Some Stats for You to Consider

Lately there has been more whine than normal about 1 or 2 planes dominating the MA.  Especially with the new FM in effect.  I am admittedly against "whine for the sake of it", but it got me to thinking.  I took a look at some numbers, to my embaressment I realized "They could be right!"

Presented are numbers for K/D Ratios and Total Use(TU).  (Total Use = Kill + Die)  These numbers are not absolute and I consider them relative feeling type numbers for analysis only.  

IMO K/D represents the relative competativness plane.  The TU number represents how much the particular plane gets used.  A high K/D combined with a high TU IMO represents how successful overall the plane is in the MA.

Presented are number for fighters only.  I have not factured out ground vehicle or bomber kills.  Therefore the data is somewhat raw.

This page represents what I consider to be a "Composite Success Number".  Basically it is K/D * TU / 100.  This Composite Success Number (CSN) is only relative and of use for quick analysis only.  More to get a feel for how particular plane is performing and how successful it is in the MA.

Sure, but the Ostwind is dull as hell when your NOT defending. I only use it very occasionally - flying is best.

 Some planes are favored by new players and that must severely affect their stats. If you could only include sorties for expperienced pilots, they may look quite different.
 In WB LW planes seemed deadly to me, mostly because they were flown by expert players. Newbies went for spits or F6F giving those planes the worse name. Remeber save (if that is a correct handle?) - absolutely deadly in F4F even during the late-war planeset. He suckered late war planes and shot them down when they tried to turn.

Below is a rating of fighters for Tours 6, 7 and 8.  I have added the CSN for each tour and the higher the number the better the plane competed in the MA.  I have also included the current CSN for Tour 8 next to each plane for current tour comparison.  Planes are rated best to worst.

The results are not final for the Tour 8, but the 104 FM has had some significant effects so far.   Some planes that were more successful under 103 have tumbled.
