Saitek X45 problem
« on: November 24, 2003, 07:07:02 PM »
Howdy folks....yep, Crapgame may be getting back into the unfriendly skies after a 2 year hiatus. Anyone out there using the Saitek X45 stick and throttle set up? If so, what configuration are you using. I can't seem to program the darn thing and when I think I've got a set I like, I load it and go to the game and the keys haven't set. I am particularly interested in what combos are being used for up views and oblique views. Any suggestions for settings, configurations and or help accepted. Thanks...

I use Hazard Script in combination with Dhazuimmers (sp?) drivers, If you download those drivers and hazardscript, I can send you my profile in conjuction with my AH stick settings. Views, buttons etc., you may  like it, you may not, Worth a try I suppose.

if you are programming the stick through software (not throught AH) dont forget to go UN-map ALL stick mappings in AH that are there by default.

other than that i got an X45 and can email you my cfg if you want.

email here through the board.
I don't know what to put here yet.

x45 configs
« Reply #3 on: November 25, 2003, 05:18:17 PM »
Yah, I too have the same problem, dont seem to be able to gt any profiles 'through' to AH. I have downloaded a couople of configs in Saitek fromat which the stick sees in windows but not in game.

Ah does see my x45 for calibration which is fine but not button mapping.

Do I have to save the Dat file somewhere special for AH to see it?

Will i be able to use the rotors on throttle for flaps and trim?

Thanks for any assistance.:)

you guys have to clear out the AH stuff... THEN map axises.

thats the hard part to explain IMHO... when i first did it it was with a lot of intuition LOL.

really if you can get somone on the phone with one to walk you throught it all.

offer is sort of there (im in CST) and willing to work through 10-15 of stuff... make sure you have done all above stated though.
email through the board if needed.
I don't know what to put here yet.

crapgame...assuming that when you try and load the Saitek profile editor it says "You must first plug in a Saitek device" (and you have loaded all the drivers etc) then:

You need to go to the control panel and choose the Game Controller tab.  You will probably see the X45 in there.  Go to "Update drviver" and then "I will choose my own driver".  Goto the Saitek directory and click on the X45 driver you see there and then OK.

For some reason you have to do this manually.

I wouldn't bother with the Dauz drivers...the new Saitek ones work well.

One thing to remember too is if your using the AH stick mapper is you must set each joystick button to a stickmapper button....Have a x 36 and to me a week to figure that out:)
