MapMaker psuedo-update
« on: September 27, 2000, 06:19:00 PM »
A heads-up to those using my terrain tool to make AH terrains.....

I've posted a configuration file on my MapMaker site that gives experienced users a little more accessibility to some data structures.

By altering this configuration file you can: (1) Generate any size output terrain you want (used to be fixed at 512x512 miles).  Note that AH only permits 3 sizes though.
(2) Change how MapMaker groups terrain cover catagories for use in AH terrains.

If you already have MapMaker you DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE PROGRAM, ONLY THE CONFIGURATION FILE (it's very small).

I don't have a lot of time right now, but I've put some quick notes on the MapMaker site that tries to explain how to use these new features.  Don't jump into these new items unless you've got a fair understanding of AH terrain building.

Thanks Ogre

This will make custom textures much easier to use in large terrains, with widely varying biospheres (ie like the Med, where you have temperate in the North, and outright desert in the south).
