I was over checking out the FA bbs and there giving away free two weeks for FA 3.6 all arena's starting on the 23 of Dec

just checked out fa online manual, and a few things looked interesting:

metal, ammo, fuel resource point based strat with factories and supply depots. Each time you take off you use up some of each resource type. If you die .. points lost.. if u land.. points r returned.

para drops where the paras attack the base defenses.

score weighted by plane type and amount of players on your team.

transport planes choose to land a full supply load or drop a 1/2 supply load.

alot of planes to choose from.

Don't know about flight model tho.

Last time I was there I found the flight model is cartoony in the lower level rooms but ok in the high level rooms. In the high level rooms you see the same faces over and over and there are alliances among some of these guys so basically they will shoot newbies and leave each other alone.

Padlock is a big change if you are not used to it. It is much easier to hit planes than in WW2OL or IL2. More a death beam type of gun model.

The community is not as mature as in other games. More whiney.

The game managers (PPS and Shad) seem to have some issues regarding taking criticizism.

I think this version of the game is better than 3.0 but not a lot has changed in the past 2 years unlike other games.

the comunity is about the same as here now . (you do have to sub for fa3)

I havent played it since FA3 beta ... and since they did some server stuff to it . but back then it was laggy and the skys were too foggy .

the arena's have different flight model levels ranging from arcade (intermediate) to full realism (koth i think )

If ya get a chance try the special events... killer canyons, death bowl, pin point parachuting . (these were always my fav's back in FA2 days )

i tried the demo a while back...and it makes ah look like a military class simulator...

There was an issue with PPS fixing the king of the hill squad tournament too. He would eliminate squads he didn't like on petty things while allowing his old squad(who would win every week) to get away with anything.

Another thing is the plane sets, it is separate by the country you play for, i.e., Japan= japanese planes, etc.

The flight model is super arcade(some people prefer that), if you thought the Ah nik was a helicopter, fly fighter ace, every plane is a helicopter.

The customer service is non existent.

And who knows who will own the game next year.
