Working on a 1-1 Pearl variant Ping. (long slow process) Biggest problem I'm running into is finding GOOD data on field, city, strat target locations. Then determining exactly WHERE in the TE they belong.
Also for some reason the ground texturing for the Hawaiian islands is giveing me troubles. Ring of farmland around the outside, rest is shown as rock. Dull, boring, and WAY to time comsumeing to change by hand.
Wabbits utility (for unknown at this time reasons) does a GREAT job on the textureing, but leaves my oceans at max alt & textured as rock.
Pacific Islands may be the best use for 1-1 terrains. Yes distances are far, but with a 512 x512 square chunk it's easy enough to put
historic islands in the center & carriers wherever needed. (1/2 mile square terrain block with single small airfield to simulate CV until 1.05 comes out?)
1-1 terrains will not show the grand sweep of the real war but I do feel they have a legitimate place in Aces High.
