Deus Ex Help Stupid Question
« on: December 10, 2003, 07:29:01 PM »
Okay playing the game for the first time, finished the first mission no prob, went and got the briefing for the second mission..they say to board the police boat. Found the boat no prob...HOW IN HELL DO YOU BOARD IT??? I've spent two hours wandering around swimming under and around it I can find no way even though the captain says to come aboard the end of the dock is barred!

<----Frustrated

Can't even find a reference in the help manuals online.

LOL

AWSOME game i LOVE it btw... i must have played all the way through 50 times.

the boat. get close to it on the dock "wave" the boat man waves back and then lets you in.

muhahaha jk lol. just treat it like anything you would pick up. right click when the box is around it.

if there is no box then you didn't finish all of your "goals" hit F1 to see the inventory and across the top will be other tabs. look at "goals / notes"

you prolly have to go see "hymie" the doc and the the sarge in the armory yet.

Oh yeah, speak to EVERY character possible to get the most out of the storyline.  Meet them sometimes twice.  Especially in Hong Kong... one character in particular won't give ya valuable information unless you right click several times.  I usually talk to them til I see the second regular in game dialogue box (not the cut scenes with blue text) to make sure I've squeezed everything out've them.

Seen the doc, seen the armory, seen it all. There's a box around the boat, white which says boat pilot. Tried right-clicking, left-clicking, jumping, blowing the rail up you name it.

chk your goals. its gotta be something.

did you save before you went to see the boss?

if so restart the game from there and try again.

dont forget you have to check back in with the boss guy AFTER you see the doc and armory (he says go see them and then check back)

have you had a talk with anna navara yet? thats needed too.

Yup checked all my goals they all show as completed INCLUDING "Go to the South Dock and take the police boat to Manhatten" It shows it as completed even though I still seem to be stuck on Liberty Island.

heres a tip, take the time to explore each map entirely. You can find lots of hidden weapon upgrades and nano canisters.

Also, save near the end, so you can play each ending.

The best Deus Ex tip: Go to "Add and Remove Programs", terminate that thing with extreme prejudice. Eject CD, hit liberally with ball peen hammer until unrecognizeable.

Hated that game.

as promised a long time ago... all the cheats i have found (to play with.. some are really funny):

http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/ah_180_1071124603.zip

sry but its an html file i saved from the instardnet.. changing it to text or pasting it here makes all the breaks go away hence unreadable.
