I once saw two squirrels plot to cause an accident on a roadway....they ran out in front of a car causing the car to swerve and ultimately crash...then they high fived each other.

Sickening.

I hunted them when I was younger..  I dont hunt anymore... Now only pity and shame revolve around the things I have killed...They are really smart lil animals..  Like most animals, they feel fear, pain, attachment, and happiness...  Squirrels are really fun to watch play in the early spring.. If you watch them closely, its easy to see they are a reasoning creature only trying to make it's way through the world... But hey, I guess no one knows what it must feel like to die as a squirrel from a bb gun untill you return reincarnated as one....  Sometimes a small measure of empathy can go a long way...

Beating off?  Only if you are a cheapskate.  Most Canadian women will give you an upgrade to full service for a few real American dollars.

Hurl-A-Squirrel Flying Dog Toy
Throw it, catch it, retrieve it -- the perfect game!  What pup can resist a low-flying squirrel?  This perky little nut cracker is the ultimate gift for every frustrated squirrel chase.  Each dog toy ring measures approximately 9" in diameter.  Made from high quality, tough fabric and rope.

Or try this:

A friend of my dad has created his own caliber, the .550 Mag.  He makes them from blown-out .460 Weatherby cases.  They'll shoot a 800 grn bullet at around 2300 fps (consider a .308 shoots a 160 at around 2800).  This will fix your squirrel problem in a hurry.

550 mag, 460 weatherby, 458 lott, 30-06

458 lott 500gr, 550mag 700gr, 550mag 800gr, 600ok 900gr

The best way to kill a squirrel is to get either a shotgun or a small caliber rifle (.22 is my favorite) and go hunting. Squirrel's make great dinners when they are combined with vegetables and dumplings. My grandmother used to make squirrel dumplings when I was living at home and could go hunting and eliminate the massive number we had living in the pecan trees around our house.

Ah, if you really want to get rid of em, use a deer hunting rifle, such as a .243, they work wonders against the vermins.  Except clean-up is a little messy...
