This was an interesting frame for me as a spectator. My ISP was down for the first half of the event and it was about T+70 that I was able to log-in.
It was the first frame as CO for stream and commanding the IJN forces is a tough task even for the seasoned CO.
The USN flattened A10. There was not much left standing around the field. I estimate 80% of the buildings were down. Also the attack on the IJN CV was a success as it was dive bombed by SBD's. The slow dive bomber is a ship killer and not to be taken lightly.
ALLIED TOTAL - 400 points for A10
1000 points for CV
1400 points overall
The IJN had some bad luck once again. I watched the Betty's come in low and suck ALL of the CAP down with them. The torpedo's 'just' missed .. I think one did actually hit the CV. After that the high Betty's attempted to level bomb from high altitude. Skillfull ship handling saved the fleet from severe damage but a dd was sunk and a cruiser took several hits.
A1 was lightly damaged by the Japanese - around 10% and Tulagi was heavily damaged. Only 1 small structure was still standing at Tulagi.
The supply convoy was barely scratched. I watched as a D3A 'Val' came in alone and dropped in the fleet. The brave pilot (believed to be flaps737) scored hits on two dd's but did not sink any.
IJN totals - 500 points for Tulagi(A41)
100 points for Henderson (A1)
200 points for damaging ships in CV fleet
100 points for damaging ships in supply convoy
900 points overall
** Because the Allied CO was drinking at the helm and moved his fleet out of the designated sector I gave IJN points for damaging ships.
