Can France and Germany make themselves look any more ridiculous?

So much for their high morals that the war in Iraq was wrong.  Deny them a shot at investments in Iraq because they wouldn't assist the US and they realize just how wrong they were.

Think Russia will toe the line, too?

Or maybe they just want to get on the right side before Saddam finally gets tired of eating rice and water and sleeping on a blanket on the floor and starts talking.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I have read and heard talk about the timing of Saddam's capture. As if GWB had anything to do with it. Some have suggested that we knew were he was and waited to grab him for political gain.

I think the more obvious timing is that once he was captured France and Germany are now willing to forgive the debt.

I guess they now realize they won't be getting paid for the arms they bought.
