Ditto, Mav. Toad covered it all, plus the apprecation all of us here should feel for our soldiers in arms. Agree or not with whatever, we have our very finest over there- I hope we're successful and they come home soon.

Why don't you just call him a baby killer? Better yet, why don't you greet this man at the airport and splash faux blood on him?

You just lost me, LDV.... kids doing their jobs and trying to stay alive are far different than sadistic torturers... if anything, the sadistic torturers is the regime we just disposed.

I'm amazed you'd even say that. Sheeesh, man- your credibility just got flushed right down the toilet.

Vader, I don't know who you are other than seeing your posts on this board from time to time  but from now on I want you to understand one thing.

You mean no more to me than whatever is on the bottom of my shoe.  Please, please whenever you see one of my posts, remember that.

He's always been a charmer.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

OUCH!!

Perhaps you meant to phrase it this way:

"I saw some reports that said possibly some prisoners dying from the result of some of the interrogations. Has he personally seen any of those cases or heard about them? If he has, does he feel it a necessary or unnecessary tactic if some of the prisoners are, in fact dying from the interrogations?"

That would have been an honest way of putting a delicate question under the circumstances. I'd doubt JBA's friend would give you an answer BTW as those cases would have to be classified and in no way would he share such info w/you.

Unfortunetly, you decided to bring a sledge hammer along to pound a question that could be construed to JBA's friend as purposely killing prisoners in the interrogations. In a sense, it can be construed as the same as calling him a killer.

Don't be surprised at the passionate responses against your question.

Sorry, but your bias is blinding you to the fact that your question as posed was not "appropriate and honest."

Think about it.

Is the emphasis on finding WMD? Do they interrogate on that subject at all? Or is it all focused on neutralizing the resistance now?

What does he think is the opinion of the "common Iraqi"? Is the overall environment hostile in the general population? Or do folks smile at our troops, that sort of thing?

After he watches a few days of our mainstream media news on Iraq, ask him if he thinks we're getting an accurate picture.

Lastly, please convey my personal thanks for his service to the nation. Politics be damned, he's serving; I salute him for his dedication, sacrifice and willingness to stand between his nation and those that would do it harm.
Wow! It's embarrassing! I find myself in full agreement with Mr. Toad!

Well, you have a guy that's there every day involved in the intel operation.

And you have folks at news anchor desks in NYC.

I guess I'm asking if the soldier thinks the new reports match what he sees in person.

wife got off the phone last week with one of the "Liberal Nurses" that worked in her unit. She'd gone over  to Iraq with a staff of 4 to volunteer time in Iraq's hospitals, their tour is 30 days long I believe (Maybe 60, I'll check with the wife.) The wife got off the phone completely and utterly shocked. Her first words were "Laura, I've never appreciated America as much as I do now!" Then she went on..."The people are EXTREMELY grateful we are there, and the press is NOT reporting all the good things happening in that country!"

My wife about dropped dead with her comments.

JBA, tell em' "Thanks for your service" for me.

Considering the work relationship my wife has with said subject, I believe her political values are beginning to sway regarding the press, as yours probably will when you see the light.
