This Christmas Season take the time to be thankfull for what you have.

Because there are plenty of people in this world who have nothing.

I am thankfull for my health when there are so many people dying in this world from AIDs and other illnesess.

I am thankfull for my home.
When there are so many in this world who have no home sleeping in the streets.

I am thankfull for the food i eat too much of.
When there are children dying of starvation everyday in this world.

I am thankfull that I live in a country that Is strong and is not at war with in It's borders.

When there are millions of orphaned children because of wars.

I am thankfull for my family.
When there are those who have no one to love and care for them.

So take the time to reflect this holliday season and be thankfull.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.:)

this one has been rolling around in my head for a couple weeks now.  a few weeks ago one of my kids was talking about not liking what  was for dinner.

it was just one of those moments when something that  you overlook for most of your life, just jumps out at you and must be seen.

we have the luxury of favorite foods.  even when I'm at my lowest financially (though this wasn't always the case), I have the luxury of passing on foods I don't enjoy.

the hard part is getting the kids to see it as that.  you mention it and get the 'dads lecturing' glassed-over look in their eyes.

this has been one of the worst years in my life,  health wise, carreer wise, financially,  all down the line.  still I'm a damn lucky man, I have a roof, eat every day, my parents, spouse and kids are all alive, all of the important peices are ok, and I'll just have to wait out the health problems and see what the future brings.

As we go through life we have different opportunities and experiences.  We are from all different parts of the world, we have different beliefs and values and all to often we never have a chance to experience life outside what we have grown up to expect.

A year ago I returned to Canada after taking part in a 9 month United Nations Mission to Bosnia Herzegovina.  Prior to taking part in this mission I had very limited experience in the world outside of Canada.  Sure, I traveled a little, mostly to the US, and I did have an opportunity to visit Greece in 2000.  But never did I have to live day to day in place so different from home.

I learned many things during that time, about life and death, the value that some place on human life, the pure ethnic hatred that some people seem to relish in and continue to promote among their own.  I also learned that there are more people out there that can rise above the hatred and are trying desperately to make a life for themselves and their families among the ruins of a collapsed society.

I am not here to make a statement about what happened in the Former Yugoslavia, a tragedy for all concerned with enough blame for all sides involved, not all people of course as there were many that wanted nothing to do with the fighting.

I guess what I am trying to say is I am grateful and thankful for living in Canada, is it perfect, who can say.  It’s certainly better then a lot of places in the world.

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.  If your religion and beliefs are such that you do not celebrate Christmas then I wish you the best of season and hope that you and your families are safe and healthy.
