Not sure if this is a bug or not but using ATI CAT 3.10 CAT 4.1 and Omega CAT 4.1 I get the exact same scores in the AH2 Tower test. Not only that but I get Same reguardless of setting

1024x768x32 6xAA 16xAF all setting to High quality
58 FPS x 5090 TC

1024x768x32 no AA no AF All Settings to High Preformance
58 fps x5090 TC

I have even checked to make sure AA and AF had taken effect they did.

My system specs are

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AIW 128mb
Intel P4 2.8 Ghz HT on  800 MHZ bus
1GB (512x2) Cas 2 LL pc3200 DDR Mem
Creative Labs Audoligy 2 ZS Plat

I think this is a silly trick to allow Skuzzy to take a hidden poll on what CPU is best, AMD or Intel :D

This was the situation on 20 Dec 03:

Frame Rate:  34 in tower, clipboard down, no changes made from defaults.

Triangle Count:  3651-3652

Other video settings:  AGP 4x, AA 2x, AF 2x.  I'm assuming the AA and AF are 2x because on the ATI control panel for them, they're shown in that position but are grayed out.  They're grayed because of a checkbox that says "Application Preference".

In Beta 15, with the same system, and all vidcard settings set for max performance at the expense of quality (I assume 2xAA and 2xAF), I get the following:

Frame Rate:  29-30
Triangles:  5066-5127

Discoverd that quality settings, other than AA & AF, on the vid card have no effect in the game.  Based on my results, DUH. should have figured that a bit earlier. Results in Beta 15 tower no clipboard:

AMD XP 2500+ (Barton) @ 2.15 GHz (200 x 10.5)
Abit NF7-S
Corsair TwinX512 DDR400 ram
ATI 9600 Pro @ 484/688 (344x2) Cat 4.2  Rage3D Tweak

Card Settings AA & AF Off
Game Settings Default

1024 x 768, 32bit  64 FPS  5066 TC
1280 x 1024, 32 bit  60 FPS  5967 TC
1600 x 1200, 32 bit  57 FPS  7241 TC

Card Settings  AA x4  AF off
Game settings max quality

1024 x 768, 32bit  22 FPS  24130 TC
1280 x 1024, 32 bit  21 FPS  24136 TC

Beta 16
Everything default with my regular \settings folder renamed.

CPU Type/Speed:  P4/1.7
Video Card:  128MB ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
In-game video resolution:  default
Frame Rate:  32
Triangle Count:  4900-5000
Other video settings: set to "application preference"

While this is not really that different from beta 15, it all feels faster.  Loading times are much reduced, FPS away from fields is higher, and I can see buildings further away than before.

Test on Beta 16:

System:
Soltek SL75 FRN2 RL
AMD mobile Barton 2500+ @ 210X10.5
512 MB  OCZ PC4000EL Dual Channel Gold
WD Raptor 37gig Raid
GeForce 3 Ti 200 64MB 4X AGP
Windows 2000 Pro Latest upgrades

Frame rates: 74
Video Mem 63.3 MB Used 33.6
Resolution 1024X768
Triangle count 4957 (spikes to 5002)
FSAA off

Settings were absolute default on a fresh download and install of Beta 16 patch, original version was Beta 15.

My frame rate is much the same as AH, it is 75 there and never varies. It is 74 here and never varied in Beta 14, we'll see about 16 soon.  I have not actually flown AHII since Beta 14, and then only once. I will try to fly some this week.

edit: I took a quick hop before heading to work, without even really setting anything up. In the air, even behind a smoking plane, I had 75 FPS.  When looking at ground objects the FPS did drop to around 60 FPS. I have not overclocked the Geforce 3 card, it is at default settings.

Hope this helps.
