Frame 1 Results

Raw numbers are as follows gents.

Allied shot down 113 Aircraft
70 – 109’s
6 – Ju-88’s
18 – Me 110’s
11- 202’s
10 – Ju-87’s

They also destroyed 80% of the train near Port 22, but at the cost of an entire squadron of 17 aircraft (I was one of them ;)). 80% of 200 points is 160 points. 17 aircraft lost is about 170 points so it was a costly trade off for the Allies.

Allies also managed to keep the Axis from destroying 3 of 4 targets.

Axis shot down 66 Aircraft
Destroyed 30% of the Radar site near 7.10.9
Did not damage or destroy any truck convoys
Did not destroy V36

I would give this frame to the Allies with a significant victory. They kept the Axis from damaging or destroying 3 of 4 targets. I will not bother to add up the exact points since just from objectives the Allies have 600 points and the Axis about 100 for the damaged Radar site. Points for the Allies was nearly twice of the Axis from the number of Aircraft shot down.

The Axis side had a squad added for Frames 2 & 3.
III/Jabostaffle Luftwaffe ~ES~

Frame 2 is another offensive frame for the Axis. Maybe this one will turn the tide.

From my point of view, it seemed like there were LOTS of Axis pilots around, especially late in the frame.  We were flying the patrol North of 21 in Spit V's, and chased what looked like 3 scout aircraft that flew past 21.  We let them go and turned around to resume patrolling North of 21.  We then found lots of 202's and 109's coming east.  We engaged them successfully, but got scattered in the process.  As we tried to reform our squad, Beans101 and I got bounced by 6 or more 109's from above.  We had one of the longest one-sided engagements I have ever been involved in.  I kept thinking, I should be dead now... I should be dead now...  We continued all the way to the deck, and I finally got too low and too slow, and my night ended.  Beans101 was saved by the AK's who came to his rescue just as I was going down.  He managed to escape and refueled at 21, but ran into another group of 109's that finally ended his night.  We all had a great time, and it seemed to me that the Axis side did a great job of staying together to gain local air superiority wherever they went.  Thanks AK's for saving Beans, it looks like he owes you all drinks for saving his bacon.  It seems you had a great night in those P-40's as well. :)

Playing offense is much harder than defense, especially in setups like these where we "know" you're coming. CanDo did a great job... nice plan sending in low Stukas to the radar facility followed by high Ju88s. I won't fall for that a second time. :)

We all have a blind date with Destiny... and it looks like she's ordered the lobster.
