Biostar Mb W/amd/2500/gf3ti200, Ah Boots But Video Is Garbled
« on: December 09, 2003, 10:56:57 AM »
I HAVE JUST INSTALLED A BIOSTAR M7NCD MB WITH NVIDIA CHIPSET, AMD2500 1.83MHZ,512K OF APACER RAM, INTO MY OLD BOX WITH MY GF3 TI200,300WATT PS, MAXTOR 30G 7200RPM HD.  DID NEW INSTALL OF WIN 2000 PRO ON NEW HD. INSTALLED ALL THE NEW DRIVERS AND IT WORKS GREAT EXCEPT THAT AH VIDEO LOOKS LIKE A FIT OF SOME SORT. AH BOOTS OK AND THE NOTEPAD AND RELATED WINDOWS ARE OK, BUT THE VIDEO OF THE GAME IS UNDECYPHERABLE. EVEN AFTER REINSTALLING OLD DRIVERS FOR MY VIDEO CARD,DX9 AND DUMPING AND REDOWNLOADING AH NUMEROUS TIMES ALONG WITH CHANGING DISPLAY SETTINGS AND SLIDING THE HARDWARE ACCEL TO EVERY SETTING I STILL GET JUMPY FIT LIKE VIDEO. ANY ADVICE AT THIS POINT WOULD BE PRICELESS. THANKS FF1::cool:

I tried a new 400watt power supply but it didnt make any difference. I also checked to make sure the video card is setup correctly. I downloaded AH2 and to my suprise it runs fine, go figure. Still gettin bad video in AH1 though. Im gonna try another monitor and do some more tweakin around. Thanks for your reply FF1

What version of video driver do you have installed.  You should be using either 30.82 or 41.09 Detonator versions with that video card.
Newer versions, particularly the 5x.xx drivers have a lot of problems with the older cards.
