WASHINGTON - A federal appeals court ruled Friday the recording industry can’t force Internet providers to identify subscribers swapping music online, dramatically setting back the industry’s anti-piracy campaign.

Nice to hear, but I've switched over to Napster anyway.

99 cents a track and I never wait for a download.

Now, I can live guilt free!!;)

SOB, i think it was posted a link to some site that you paid .99 cents a download.

I used it for awhile but got tired of the **** where you can't put it on another computer without buying it again.

Same thing with the new deal musicmatch is doing. I had to be logged on with my account to musicmatch on that computer to be able to play it, even then sometimes it was iffy. I remember having to pay for the same song twice to be able to listen to it on two different computers.

I have an office computer at my house, it's the wifes I use sometimes. Then I have my (game) computer in the bedroom all of these are networked together to use the same cable modem.

That's what I was doing, it's weird. So, I've just been using kazza lite again. :p

Question:

what format are these downloads in?  Mp3?  Can you burn them to CD after download?

Yeah the RIAA sucks and I'm glad they got shafted.  But it's still stealing. ;)  Download MP3s, buy what you like, and trash the rest.

Oh, and yes you can burn (decoded) mp3s to a CD.
