When its booting use the F8 key. That should allow you to startup in a safe mode which allows access to the passwords under controls. I had to do that when my daughter put a password on her new computer we got her for Christmas with XP Home edition. Not sure if it works on the Pro software.

Friend is a l33t c0d3r and has a somekind of linux in a floppy. He could boot the comp with NT4 from floppy; change the password and login with his own password.

So guess everything is possible.

Due to the work I am in, I have a cd with which you can disable (blank) the password using a password crack cd. (easier than the floppies).  They are not cheap, however, sometimes you can find them on ebay for a good price.  Works on everything from NT4 to Advance server 2003 due to terrible design.
Here is a link that was given to me, but I haven't tried out their program yet.

I think it is a free version.

If your question was can I use WindowsXP without going through the log in screen every time I start XP, the answer is yes.
Easy in-game again.

If you know the password you can set it up so that when it boots a password is not needed.  If you do not have the password at all.  Then use a crack program or reinstall, or see below.

Use LNX-BBC.  http://www.lnx-bbc.org/

You can boot on nearly any and all machines and access any hardrive with this Linux OS, reads most file system  formats.  It has over a thousand programs to work with.  It is small enough to fit on a business card cd.  Boots from the CD.   When it boots it is read only so you do not have to worry about overwritiing data or corrupting anything.  You have to configure it to get write access, instructions are included.

You can crack or change any windoze version and or windoze password with this OS.

You do not need write access to crack the password.  Simply find it, use "johntheripper" or one of the other crack programs.  There a number of crack programs available on the cd.

If you are not able to boot into GUI then boot into the command line, it hangs with some of the newer graphics cards.

The Linux revolution will overtake the windoze monopoly in the near future.  Long live freedom.

Have Fun!!
