You oughta push that a little more Maniac, Jay lives in Keauhou estates.. one of the nicest neighborhoods on the Big Island.. very expensive homes. He is about 1.5 minutes from one of the most beautiful bays in the world and about 5 miles south of Kailua town home of Lulus.. best cheese steak sandwich west of California.

Start trying to fix your current computer.  Before long, you'll know the internal workings of a computer so well that you'll be able to build one.  :)

It's how I learned how to build computers -- by upgrading and fixing my out-of-the-box HP.  The one I built afterwards went together without a hitch.

And I'd shop around for a local computer company to build it to spec, or maybe get one of those custom-ordered ones from mwave.com.  Since you're in Hawaii, getting an Alienware serviced could be a huge pain in the ass.  Whoever you buy from, make sure you can get it serviced on the island.

All of this assumes you know what you want in the computer.  There are plenty of people here who can tell you what parts to buy.  Then just put it together yourself, or get it put together at a local shop or by Mwave.

thanks tarmac ill check out that sight. Id rather choose what I want and have it built for me. Alienware seems like a sweet puter but u are right on the service. Maybe building really is the way to go.

Buying Alienware is paying for a name. You can have one built with the same specs for half the price.

just don't walk into the car dealership and tell them you have $450 a month and you want a new car :)

You gotta know what you what/need before you start shopping and what the going rate is on those parts.

I'll start it off:

Video card: ATI 9800 Pro about $350

Ram: A gig of whatever your new mboard will hold
