Last night was the AK squad night. We've moved away from the generic base grab event we normally held on squad night and started doing slightly more rediculous things. Last night was particularly rediculous.
We were tasked to form 3 man flights flying nothing but British planes. The mission was to fly around the arena and kill one each Japanese, American, Russian and German plane. We passed on the Italian stuff due to the rare occurance of spotting one. We also operated under the stipulation that all 3 flight members had to survive... if one died, you reset and started from scratch.
I won't bore you with the whole story, but it finally came down to 2 flights only needing to kill a Japanese aircraft to win. We were both east of A27 in a massive furball. I was totally amazed at how in spite of all the "tired of so many N1Ks" comments I've seen.. we couldn't find a single damn one.
Then, it happened. Amidst the onslaught of red cons, the "N1K" icon appeared. I'm still trying to picture the look on this guys face as 6 Spitfires completely ignored every aircraft in the area and focused solely on him. It was pretty fricking hilarious... though I imagine the N1K pilot may not agree
Was one of the most enjoyable squad nights we've had in some time.
