I've never seen this film, but I've read about it several times and have been intrigued.  Sounds like a pretty cool cult classic, like "DeathRace 2000" and "Le Mans"; art to some, trash to others.

Ugh...there was a movie in the 90's that featured some prototype car too....I think it was a Chrysler something...bullet car, real nice...purple if I recall too.  I'm drawing a huge blank...sorry for so few clues.
