I was skeptical so did a little research.  Here is another if you did not believe it.

He's wound out in 6th gear. Just check the top speed for the bike to see if it's possible.

I've put a camera on my bike when I went through the canyons and I was shocked at how slow it looked on TV.  The visuals are only part of the equation, I've blasted down the street at 100mph then when I checked the onboard camera, it looked like I was driving Miss Daisy.

That guy was doing the speed, that was sweet.  A stock Hayabusa can just get 200mph, and that was w/ a Turbo.

I was thinking the same thing. I watched it a second time and noticed the intersecting road on the left just didn't fly by quickly enough to match the speed on the speedometer.

I can't call myself a video detective, but I have personal experience with video taping from a fixed camera on my motorcycle.

With that in mind, the speed registered on the speedo is consistent with the rest of the video, based on what I've seen.  I've filmed my bike up to 140 registered, and it was proportionally slower looking on playback.

Guys - that was real.

Here's the bike:

http://www.dragbike.com/features/turbobusa/

Quote
On high boost this bike makes more than 200hp from 6500 RPMs until redline and torque of 145 ft/lbs or more from 4800 RPMs upward. At peak, the torque reads 175.0 and the hp chimes in at 299.9. Many engine builders would have tweaked the dyno for one more run just to say it got 300hp but Barry is about honesty and credibility.
.
.
.
One point here is that this ride was taken with stock gearing of 17/40 on the bike, which will surely have to be changed. Most riders with this system are going to an 18 tooth front sprocket and lowering the rear to 38-39 teeth. With the 18-38 and the stock tire, this computes to a 221 MPH top speed.
.
.
Thus far our discussion has been about the mild version from Velocity's stable. For you real psychos who can never have enough we are going to turn our attention to the WILD side of the spectrum.

Ah Rolex, I see you misunderstand.  We're talking about MPH, not KPH.

sorry..the acceleration from 40mph to 110mph is simply too fast to be believed.  Approsamiately 4 seconds.  You can see the bike is doing 30mph just preparing for the run.  It looks like he may be doing 10 to 15 mph tops at that point.  He must have rigged the speedometr with a smaller gear or something.

Some performance comparisions with acceleration and top speeds etc:

http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/146_perf_nums/

Just picking one that looks on of the best times:

motorcycle  Ducati 999 ('03)
issue  4/03 , 10/03
quarter mile (sec. @ mph)  10.29 @ 133.65
60-80mph time (sec.)  3.67
80-100mph time (sec.)  3.78
top speed (mph)  n/a

- - - - -

On the video:
60-80 MPH     0.89 seconds
80 - 100 MPH 1.49 seconds

Ducati :  60-100 7.84
Video Bike: 2.38

However a Yamaha YZF1000R ('97)
60-80mph time (sec.)  3.01
80-100mph time (sec.)  2.88

60-100 in 5.89

The video bike accelerates over twice as fast.

So is this bike a fake or real?

More research needed.
