OOps,something found in Iraq
« on: January 11, 2004, 05:14:08 PM »
Our little country (Iceland) recently sent its bomb experts to Iraq. I think the aim was both to assist in the search for stuff, as well as an eduacational goal, since they usually keep defusing WW2 mines from the north Atlantic.
Well, on Friday, they stumbled across a pile of mortar shells that are apparently filled with a green fluid. First guess supported with in-the-field analysis suggests mustard gas, but nerve  gas is suspected.
Better research is ongoing as soon as the (US?) mobile lab will be there.
Curious really. Wonder what it is. Anyone heard anything?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

No suprise really.
With all that desert out there it is very easy to hide stuff.
Like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
