We have tested shaders in AHII. The foundation is there for them. But they most likely will not be impemented until after 2.0 is released.

What about bump mapping?
I can't say I can pinpoint any bumpmapping.
I'm no expert either... just curious...

bump mapping is on the terrain. Turn it on and off while looking at the terrain. You'll see a big difference.
