What constitutes a 'vulch" ?
« on: December 26, 2000, 11:15:00 AM »
I was flying H2H today with soeone called  "Beach11"  he was the host and there were about 3 other planes in the room, it was FFA, I take off as soon as im off the runway in my 51 i set autoclimb and when im about 1000 off the ground he zooms in and blasts me, he said this isnt a vulch because my gear was up.....?????

then i took off again and as usual i set the auto climb to gain some alt, immediatly he gets on my six but this time he jsut sits there about 500 back and when at about 5000 i begin to turn and he hoses me again.  I die again, then i reup and mange to haul bellybutton away and get up and get a few kills, after one kill im a little above the base and i look down and see beach taking off, so i just fly pasthim from his left wing to his right about 800 away, immediatly he whips up and snapshoots my left wing of and i die. I said "ya know i didnt fire on you cause you were taking off"
his reply, "not my problem"

so i think there needs to be better set of guidelines when it comes to FFA and vulching.
I dont know how good theses are but i think this is fair

1. First turn rule: once you take off you can climb as high as you want unless you make a turn (other than to avoid a mountin or something) or untill you reach 10000ft, if you make any turns before that you are in affect saying "im ready"

2. No follow ups: You do not follow on a plane's six that just took of waiting for him to initiate the first turn rule.

3. if a plane grants you fair takeoff by just flying past you when you are taking off you do not thank him by snapshooting him as he passes.

VEHICLES: never are vehicles on the same team to vulch or kill eachother unless otherwise specified, none of this get in a panzer and blast that m-16 that downed you crap. ground vehicle are targets for planes and ground vehicles should only shoot at planes, (unless other specifide by the host)

I wish i had a dime for every time i shot somebody down with the M-16 (i dont use osti) and have them pop up in the panzer and blast me, and then sit by the VH and shoot everyone who spawns at it.

I might have left something out or things need tweaks but it hink it would be some good guidelines to go by to keep everything as fair as possible.

I think the general rule is...

if you are visible, you are a legitimate target.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

As in nature, If you don't want to be eaten by a predator, look before you come out of your hiding place.

Oh no, not another 'style' subject. :-) If a base is being captured and the FHs are up, then I think it's completely fair to vulch the crap out of it.

All these threads are going to become old news with all the 1.05 stuff flying around now..

Agh! Sorry Wobble, I've never used H2H that much before, so chalk it up to inexperience!

A vulch is consistently defined as Any Time You Get Killed And You Don't Like It.
