You can play online but with much lower numbers than the MA, it doesn't support/can't handle that kind of load.

Not sure about numbers online but I've heard that they're pretty low, usually less than 10 people on a server at any given time.

That is awesome.

Put a few more of those together and release an album.

I know I would buy it.

Song Lyrics:

First Verse
"I fly smooth, except when I'm turning.
I fly smart, too bad I cant get dogfighting figured out.
I'm so brave, look at how well I'm stalling.
I still try, thats probably why it feels just like I'm flying for the first time."

Second Verse
"I'm so green, my skill is so lacking.
I'm so lost, too bad I cant get all these bandits off me.
This flatspin is making me dizzy.
Hit the silk, I can't believe it Feels just like I'm flying for the first time."

Third Verse
"Anyone perfect must be cheating,
flying with externals and their cockpit off.
Everyone's plane, is so lovely.
How much will Forgotten Battles cost?
What if I lost his location?
What if my engine starts to whine?
What if they dodged my detection?
Maybe the worst is behind.
It feels just like I'm flying for the first time.
It feels just like I'm flying for the first time."

Fourth Verse
"I'm so chilled, I cant keep from shaking.
He's so still, I just cant keep my crosshairs over anything.
I'm so thrilled, to finally be landing.
I'm so dumb to be over here,
It feels just like I'm flying for the first time."

Fifth Verse
"The skin on this plane is so lovely,
with icons off, I wont get lost.
Number one give me your location.
What if my flight is the cost?
Anyone perfect must be cheating,
flying with externals and their cockpit off.
Everyone's plane is so lovely,
how much will Forgotten Battles cost?
What if I lost his location?
What if my engine starts to whine?
What if they dodged my detection?
Maybe the worst is behind...
Maybe the worst is behind...
Maybe the worst is behind...
Maybe the worst is behind."

its better than any song ive heard on the radio in a while hope the band or people that made it pursue a career in that field.

as for il2fb its the best graphics fligth model damage model feel of flying feel of being their sim released to date. feels much more like flying than flight simulator 2002 and looks much better thanks to the opengl 3d engine it uses (it also has an optional dx engine that dosnt look nearly as good)

as for playing it online its not a massive multiplayer game, its online technology or resources is of the 1990's janes ww2 fighters (upon which some of the game is clearly "borrowed") or janes f15. it supports only player based small nonpersistant servers. once youve seen large scale arenas these mini fights seem like a couple dweebs banging around in h2h or the dueling arena. not very impressive or interesting after the novelty of the graphics and flight model wear off.

i wont go into offline ai play because everyone here is spoiled by online human oppoonents and no ai code will come close to the variety of skill and noobness that human players provide. but it will provide a week or two of ammusement before the ai drone coding can no longer suspend your disbelief of being a simulated human opponent.

but its worth buying. the leningrad terrain is absolutely breathtaking, you can fly vfr on it from map reference only with ease because it has so much detaiil.

It's a good song, but let's be realistic... it sounds a lot like something Matthew Sweet would have written in the early to mid-1990s.  "I've Been Waiting," anyone?
