Ugh, laggy drones

This doesnt happen very often, but when it does, the entire sortie has it....the lagging buff in a formation.

I don't know what causes it...it seems more frequent with the B-17s than the Lancs.  I'll get them into climb and just out of random luck, one will trail off.  Slow down, let him re-link, and again, back to full power and climb...or cruise.  Then a few minutes later, he's lagging back a few hundred feet again

I'll have to sort thru my film folders to better visualize what I'm seeing from time to time

Is anyone else experiencing this laggy-drone syndrome ??

I note it is possible when climbing and executing  even light turns to actually out run your drones....... sometimes this effects one drone more thsn the other

Next time it happens move to that plane and see if it has some kind of damage.

Neg damage, still on climb/cruise....but yes, I'll dig for he film that best illustrates my point

I throttle manifold down to 45 inches in 17s to avoid worrying too much, then you only need to watch entering the wind layer at 16k.

Ive noticed if you climb too hard the drones wont keep up.

Ever noticed experienced buff pilots will make hard turns to induce lad on their drones when your moving in for kill?
This happens to me alot with certain pilots who only up for the ackstar feature. When i zero my bird in on the trailing drone the pilot yanks stik and *poof* they dissapear. I usually flop around wondering where they went ang get an bellybutton full of lead lol. This rarely happens of course..but a few guys know the trick and use it well. Not *****in here just bored drinkin me coffee

depends on the wind, where in the arena you're flying, and on what map.  on fester, my 17 drones don't lag.  on trinity they lagged from 17k to bout 24k but above that, once they're in formation they're rock solid.

I've noticed this too. Usually it happens when you roar off the runway and start an immediate full-power climb. The second drone can't keep up cause he's pulling Tail-End Charlie and has the lowest airspeed. Just throttle back a tad or pull revs back to 2,200 and he'll catch up.

Move to the tail gunner position and watch as the rocket busters on the drones kick in.  Don;t swich to autopilot.
