Custom Airfields...
« on: January 15, 2004, 01:02:17 PM »
Okay I guess this would be more of a question for HTC but I'll ask it here.  Is it possible to make historical airfields using new runway/taxiway layouts and place the already existing hangars on that field?

I've got about 50+ historical airfields used by the 8th Airforce that I'd like to make.

were the 8th Air Force bomber bases all laid out in the standard 3 runway triangular set up that we see with AH main bases?

Absolutely possible, Cobra. Check out the Okinawa terrain for a good example of custom airfield layouts.

Majority of the 8th's runways were a triangular 3 runway setup with many pads around the field.  But there were a few singles and double runway fields.  The single fields were made out of steal matting.

Most 8th Airforce bases were similar to this one:

Gonna have to right click, properties, then cut and paste the URL into the URL box to see it.

United try putting this in front of the image properties when you post them here. It allows the image to be seen from sites like Geocities, etc...

Just take a look at the VF-17 recruiting thread in the Squadrons section. The opening picture uses this to get around the image blocking.
