I am following the instructions for custom skinning. However when i save a skin, i do not see the alpha or texture files as indicated in the instructions. I am using the p51 skin for sake of simplicity
 thanks

I belive they were just using that as an example...

the only alpha ones I see are the gauges, which I am not tampering with. I already have an pony about 1/3 complete (see my post in ahii tod discussion)

So basically, don't worry...just work with .bmp textures.

great. The reason I ask is that when I follow the instructions (obviously not correctly) I dont get a change of aircraft skin.

Remember, when you go into the 'hanger' on the clipboard, there will be a pull down menu at the top of the list which should say 'default' on it.  You have to scroll down to the skin you made.

Also remember that you have to make a text file in the directory of the new skin, and you have to name it (assuming you're using the p51d, for example) 'P51d'.  Then you have to write the name you want the skin to have in the text file so it will show up on the aforementioned pull-down file.

I found an Issue that if I place this line in the mentioned txt file...

Tuskegee 301st FS/332nd FG 15th AF

only the

"Tuskegee" shows up in the pull down menu.

Everything from the first space is not used...
