Il-2

I know many of you have had Il-2 for some time, now. I got it for Christmas, and have just gotten around to loading it on my computer. I have several questions: 1.) Can you get an external view while in playback track mode? or do I have to record in external view to get that?  2.) How do you make screen shots? 3.) Where in the game can I simply practice take-offs and landings?

Thanks in advance for your help.

p.s. ...and before someone says to rtfm...I did, such as it is. It's woefully inadequate for such a complex game/sim.

Don't remember about the view system but the take off and landing part is fairly easy. You can practice in quick missions pretty easily; that is the way I practiced it till I got tired of playing IL-2. Just make sure that you head to a friendly base when you do it. If not then the plane will end up with so many holes in it the thing looks like swiss cheese. I guess I will fire it up again and make some skins and do some missions. :D

Hey, Reshke. I was in Vestavia this past Christmas/ New Year Holiday. I have kin living all over the B'ham area, and we were visiting some of 'em in  Vestavia. I stuck my hand out the window in salute to ya as we were goin through on hwy 31. My wife thought I was nuts, heheheheh. She said "Do you know him?" No.  "Do you know where he lives, exactly?" No. "Then, why?" I said, "You just have to play th game to understand."  She just rolled her eyes. lol

Ok, when loading up a track there should be a toggle switch on the right hand side of the window that says "Manual View Control" or something like that. make sure it's in the "Up" position.

You can take screen shots simpy by pressing the "PrintScreen" key.

Slimm if you would have dropped me an email you guys could have come by the house for a bit. I live about a block behind the Food World grocery store on Hwy 31 in Vestavia. Which is right beside the Red Lobster there with Ruby Tuesday and Pizza Hut across the street. At the least I could have hooked up with you guys and the wife and I could have met ya'll for drinks and food. Let me know the next time you come this way or I will let you know when work brings me out to the Houston area.

These folks we were visiting just bought a house there 2 months ago, so you prolly don't know them. My parents and sister live off hwy 280 in Shelby Co. My wife's sister and family live near the Galleria, towards Bessemer. My wife and I grew up on the west side of town and attended Tarrant H.S. back in the late 60's/ early 70.
