Instruments and measurement standards

Any way to get the approximate instruments in the right location for the planes of AH2 AND have them in the units of measure that the country of origin used, metric or imperial?

IF it's too much to do the actual cockpit layouts and instrumentation then can we at least get the units of measure.  Really helps with the immersion which is the main reason I'm looking forward to AH2 Tour of Duty.

Well..

 There are two groups of people considering this issue.

 One group supports correct historical measurements and instruments, despite the obviously larger download size.

 The other group, supports the 'generic' instruments and the feet/yard/mile standard currently used.

 Both groups make powerful arguments, and it really is upto what HTC decides.

 Personally, I am with the former group: larger download size, and better and detailed graphics, are increasingly becoming the norm. IL2/FB looks extraordinary in graphics, but in about an year I think it will become already "standard, but outdated."

 In my personal feeling, the "gameplay is worth sacrificing graphics" or "we must keep the download small, for those who have slower connections" argument is losing ground by the day.

 AH is living on "old customers" who remember the days of "Chuck Yeager's" and ol' "Air Warrior DOS". But to the new generation of gamers, the importance of visuals are absolute: to them, graphics IS a part of gameplay. I've seen on the UBI forums the simple truth of what visual inspirations hold to the people - it's the new god.

 ...

 Still, if AH should remain as it is, then I respect the decision. Playing from a country where more than 70% of the 40 million population is connected to the web via DSL/Cable/T1, it's quite hard to understand the troubles of countries those do not have such net connections - but I understand that it still must be respected.

 Sometimes that leads me to think that perhaps, AH still has to retain what it has held for a long time, as an advantage - small and compact download, offering an unbelievable quality of gameplay.

 Who knows :) ? Maybe when we get to see AH3, things will change.
