How about toning them down a bit...say to an effective range of maybe 4500 feet AGL?
Most of the fights nowadays take place below 10K, and when you have flown across a whole sector looking for a fight, it is kinda frustrating to have to dodge the acks because the enemy is afraid to leave the security of his field, and just orbits waiting for someone to come to him and then let the acks kill ya. I have never been against using the acks to save your skin in extreme situations, but, like I said, nowadays, with the reduced icon range, most fights take place pretty low, and all I am seeing is guys hanging around close to their field so they can get some kills without firing a shot.
Take away the "credit" for a kill when the ack nails the guy, and make people earn their kills.
Just my opinion, but I think it would improve game play and make the game more satisfying.
