Since the dive bombers, Ju87, D3A, SBD, are nearly unused in the game, how about we make them particularly lethal against ships. Is there a way to give them a special ship killing AP bomb like they really had? Right now they carry regular bombs and that limits their usefullness. Seems like it would make them more useful if they were the preferred way to kill a CV. Make CV's harder to kill with regular HE bombs, but make 1-2 hits from an AP bomb lethal with only the divebombers able to carry AP's, and you'd see lots of Ju87's/D3A's/SBD's I'd think.
The second best way to kill a ship in RL was skip bombing, USAAF was very successful with it in SoPac using B25's, B26's and A20's. Is there a way to simulate that by giving them a torpedo that could be dropped at a higher alt/speed, and then have it travel at a higer speed in the water, like REALLY fast, to simulate a skipping bomb?
Both of these would represent actual tactics and inhibit the current "Lanc dropping from 30k" stuff we now see. I do not know af any (but there may have been some) real cases of high alt level bombers killing capitol ships.
