Author Topic: Dropbox Won't Show New Skin (Read 250 times)

New skin feature works great EXCEPT I can't access it in the dropbox. Only thing that shows is Default.

I've gone over the instructions 482 times and everything checks.

Created the new folder, exported the wing and fuselage bmps, modified the bmps, made the txt file, everything shows and looks correct according to the instructions, but nothing shows in the Skins option except Default; dropbox remains blank.

Read other skins threads but none seem to be this problem. It is too basic to be a problem, right? So what is the fix?

txt file is only 1 line and has words in it?

you are on patch 12 NOT 11? (becauce 11 needed that workaround mentioned here and here )

if you made the "workaround" txt file delete it. you only need the "190d9.txt" with a name for example. not the htx (in patch 12)

Thanks, JB73. Yes text file is one line and has words in it, yes, I didn't attempt custom skin until latest patch 12, and no, I didn't do any workaround file from the patch 11 fix.

That's what's so mystifying -- everything seems to be in place and should work, but doesn't.

Okay, problem solved -- I was smothering in too many folders. Duh. Obviously I am new to skinning but it is another fringe benefit of learning and trying new things in Aces High.

Already interesting and fun. I'll be making some skins for my offline enjoyment, and I can see why only maybe 1 of 100 skins will meet the professional requirements to merit inclusion in AH II's new skin options. Another great way to allow top members to shine and share.
