Howdy,

I installed B10 and I'd like to report what I saw.  This is on a system that is not suited for games, but the behavior I saw seems anomalous.

System: PIV 3.06ghz w/ Hyperthreading & 512MB RAM
Video: ATI Rage 128 Pro Ultra GL AGP not a great card
Direct X 9.0a

AH2 didn't even start properly before on this machine, so there is definate progress.  Here's a screenshot:

Here's the dxdiag report if it helps:

You are lucky, at least the map came up. I can't get the map. Turns out my graphics card won't cut it.

Your graphics card is below the minimum system requirements.

I think AH2 uses something which has to be in hardware and can't be emulated in software. Maybe T&L?
That would explain the "anomalous" behaviour.

You should feel bad placing a card that was state of the art in 1999 into a PC with an P4 3 GHz. :D

Of interest, it's the card that came in the system from Dell.  This is my work machine, and I don't expect it to play games well, but as an FYI, this is a factory setup.  Scary, aint it?

It's a bad joke. Even for an office only PC, they could have placed a better card in it for maybe 10-20 $ more.
IMO they had bought too many of those cards in 1999/2000 and since then, they place those cards into PCs. :rofl

we have 4 parts to our puter cpu, mem, motherboard, and vid card, okay 5 add sound card.

when i used by gateway it was a dog.  fine for work but it simply did not keep up with the other fellas.

got a p4 2.66, 1 gig of cheap 2600 ddr, ti4200 two steps below nvidia hottest card at the time, and just recently left onboard sound for a santa cruz card and picked up 10 fps.

it works great.  built it myself.  way way cheaper than buying one.

I am having the same problem.  just d/l'ed beta 13 and I get 0 fps.  I cnt believe this 'puter wont run AHII, I mean c'mon the minimum specs are not that high by my understanding.  Now granted, its not a great 'puter, but I figured it would run this game, even if my frame rate would be very low.

celeron 2.4
512 mb's RAM
64 mb's integrated video

Is there not an answer other than, "your video is not expensive enough?"

I was running AH on this:
766 celeron
128 mb ram
integrated video of at most 11 mb's

Surely AHII should run on my new one at least a little.
Is it possible that the final release will be a bit less demanding?

Your onboard graphics is simply not enough and I don't think this will change anymore in future. Please buy at least a Geforce 2 MX (35€ here) and you could stop asking for lowering the system requirements. :)

No :D

A Geforce 2 MX is really low... for 2004 games. ;)

Why did you buy a new PC?
