« on: February 23, 2004, 07:02:31 PM »
chk out this pic:

every screen shot from AH or AHII i try to open with ulead photoimpact looks like this.

is this related to my weird problem of 1/2 the screenshots i take in AHII being all black?

anyone else have this happen?
I don't know what to put here yet.

[list=1]Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things just don't seem the same
Actin' funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky
Purple Haze all around
Don't know if I'm comin' up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that girl put a spell on me
Help me
Help me
Oh, no, no

haha oct...

adding to avoid confusion:

these are the screenshots not what the game looks like while playing. while flying all looks normal like it should. bmp's look normal in thumbnail with WIN XP Pro. open them with photoimpact and yikes im in the 60s LOL.

also this is not an AHII issue i guess so i think this is the wrong forum sorry skuzzy.

this is with both AH 1 and AH2 screenshots. all other *.bmp files on my PC work fine editing and opening them. these just go all squirlly though.

very oddball problem i know.

A lot of programs cant handle 32 bit bmp files, open them in MS paint and save them as 24 bit.

just found out MS photo editor cant open any screenshots from AH1 or 2 now also.

gives an error:
"Can't open file"

thats all it says LOL.

properties of each say:
width: 1024 pixels
height: 768 pixels
horizontal resoulition 96dpi
vertical resoulition 96dpi
bit depth 32

wow i opened them in MS Paint and "saved as" 24 bit bmp... didnt rename and it asked "are you sure you want to overwrite file XXX?" i said yes and i guess i assumed it converted them.
guess not huh.

got it to work now by renaming each file as i saved them to 24 bit.

that really sux. i have to open each screenshot in paint rename it save it as 24bit THEN i can edit them?? got to be an easier way?!?!?

Sounds like a problem with Windows... a fresh reinstall might be overboard considering they're only screenshots.

I dont see why everyone has problems  viewing AH screenshots with different programs, I havent seen one yet that doesnt.

JB73 try this one its free and it reads any picture format, as well as icon's, text, video and almost anything you throw at it.

Formats Supported

very easy to install and get the plugins as well.
